I am LONG overdue for an update on our sweet Josiah, though. He's really come into his own personality-wise in the last couple of months. Most notably, he is VERY happy. Smiles almost non-stop, especially if he gets the chance to smile at another person. He makes every older person at church feel like a rock star. They are always telling me, "He gives me the biggest smile every time he sees me!" And he does - every single one of them - and his family, even his crazy sister and brother. He has only recently become a somewhat better sleeper (and by this I mean that he has finally managed to sleep through a few entire nights and take some decent naps), but I can't complain to much up because, if he's awake, he's cheerful.
He's sitting up, of course, and has been crawling for about a month and gets around pretty well. This of course, opens a whole new realm of dangers (see the picture below :)) but there haven't been too many accidents so far. He doesn't do a ton of standing of cruising, but I'm still betting he walks earlier than his sister and brother did (14 and 15 months respectively :)). And he's got 4 teeth he loves to eat with. He's eating pretty much anything we let him eat these days and getting better and better at self-feeding.
Josiah's can be both very quiet and really talkative. He often crawls around silently, exploring things. But with the right toy in his hand, he will jabber and jabber. He loves his big sister (except when she's moving him away from somewhere he wants to be) and the feeling is mutual - Serena is very sweet to her baby brother and often makes him laugh and laugh. He's usually pretty excited to see Asher too, which is a little surprising given that Asher very often ends up being, either intentionally of unintentionally, a little too rough with him. Someday, though, I imagine they're going to be great playmates.
Our Josiah really is a lovely and sweet baby boy and we feel so blessed to enjoy watching him grow.
